Slay the Spire 2 is an Excellent Sequel

I've been playing the "early access" version a lot. At this point, I've played several runs solo and multiplayer. I've been having a ton of fun. It runs great on my Steam Deck, though at this point there are a few inconsistencies with gamepad input.

Slay the Spire 2 is everything I want in a sequel: everything that made the first entry in the series excellent, while growing the systems and formulas and adding more fun. Necrobinder and Regent both have their own distinct flavor of pet builds. Getting the right combination of cards and potions to duplicate the rolling boulder leads to a hilarious turn-after-turn increase in damage.

My co-op gaming group overlaps with my in-person gaming group. We had been playing the board game, which is co-op, and were excited when it was announced that the sequel would have co-op.

The game remembers the most important thing: it is a game and players are supposed to be having fun.

Review: 5/5, will continue to play a whole lot more than I should.

Necrobinder. Because everything is better with Necromancers.
